Don’t Forget your Fly-in Follow-up!
The Vinyl Institute would like to extend a big THANK YOU to our members and everyone involved for your tremendous efforts in making the 2017 Congressional Fly-in such a success. We’ve already received tons of positive feedback from our attendees and it wouldn’t have been possible without your commitment and support.
In fact, our meetings are already resulting in progress on our key issues and our members are lining up plant tours back in the districts to continue cultivating champions in Congress. Your continued support is critical to keep the ball rolling on our other key issues as well.
Meeting Notes
If you have not already done so, please send us copies of your meeting notes. These first-hand accounts are invaluable to our ability to answer any questions or concerns they may have as well as contributing to our strategic planning. Please address your meeting notes to John Serrano at jserrano@vinylinfo.org.
Follow-up!
Follow-up can be just as important as actually meeting with your congressperson in reaffirming your message. The first thing you should do is thank your congressional representative for meeting with you. You can you this sample form to get your started.
Finally, August recess is fast approaching and this is a perfect opportunity to invite your congressperson on a tour of your facility back in the district. Plant tours are a great way to foster a strong relationship with your members of Congress by connecting your name and face with the jobs you provide his or her constituents. Our Plant Tour Guide is a great resource to get you started and we are more than happy to help you facilitate a plant visit.
Again, thank you for your support in making our 2017 Fly-in such a success. We look forward to your continued support in making 2017 a productive year for vinyl advocacy. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have.
