From Durban to Boulder, a Quest for Climate Resilience at City Scale
Cities are considering a myriad of responses to adapt in the face of climate change, from large infrastructure projects to social programs to policy initiatives.
In order to make effective and efficient decisions, cities need data that illustrates the range of possible impacts at the local level. This data is hard to come by, despite efforts to improve regional-level projections and address such gaps. And, due to the lack of data, cities have downscaled their climate models–taking global climate models and shrinking the projections to fit smaller geographic areas.
