Happy World Emoji Day from VI
Happy World Emoji Day! Why July 17? It’s the date displayed on the Unicode calendar emoji. But what do emojis and vinyl have to do with one another? Well there are actually many emojis that represent a use of vinyl or are created with PVC, so we’ve compiled them here. It just goes to show how important vinyl is in our lives—whether we realize it or not!
- Shoes—check out how Dr. Marten uses PVC
- Handbags, backpacks and briefcases—PVC handbags were very on trend last year.
- Umbrellas
- Goggles
- Badminton courts and nets
- Swimming pool siding
- Vehicle seats—think submarines, boats, planes, cars
- Automotive applications—besides just seats, the underbody, dashboard, acoustic foam and more are often made out of vinyl.
- IV bags—found in ambulances and hospitals
- Camping tents—these aren’t as common, but sometimes tent floors are made of vinyl
- Credit cards
- Faucet pipes—while a variety of piping material is available, PVC is a fantastic option to providing safe drinking water, as it doesn’t corrode or break and can last nearly 30 years.
- Electrical cords
Do any of these surprise you? Any that we missed? Here at VI, we call vinyl the material for life, and we think this list just goes to show how true that sentiment is and how often you might use vinyl products on a daily basis.
