Join Vinyl Industry Leaders at the Vinyl360 Congressional Fly-in
Join us for the Vinyl360 Conference and Congressional fly-in.
Vinyl360 takes place September 19th – 21st and is your opportunity to meet with your elected officials on Capitol Hill to discuss the key issues impacting your business and the vinyl industry. This year we’re focusing on the following issues:
Water Infrastructure
The tragedy in Flint, Michigan, has made it clear: our water infrastructure is not only expensive and inefficient – it is dangerous too. The vinyl industry has for years been working toward a comprehensive solution. We need your help to explain why PVC pipes, which are lead-free and will never corrode, are more cost-efficient and a key part of the solution to our nation’s water infrastructure crisis.
Trade
Ninety-five percent of global consumers like outside the United States. There are currently dozens of free trade agreements being negotiated around the world and the U.S. is missing out. The vinyl industry was successful in helping pass Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) last year, both presidential candidates are now attacking free trade. We need your help to explain why trade is critical to the economic well-being of U.S. manufacturers.
Regulation
Federal regulations cost manufacturers $2.028 trillion in 2012 (in 2014 dollars). The average cost burden for a U.S. company is $233,182 – or 21 percent of payroll. And the cost of federal regulations on a manufacturer with less than 50 employees is $34,671 per person. The problem has only gotten worse in recent years and there is a desperate need to modernize and streamline the regulatory process. Please join us to tell key policymakers how regulations impact your business and why change is needed now.
