VI To Highlight Sustainability, Wellness, and Material Optimization at 2017 NeoCon

By | June 2017

The Vinyl Institute (VI) is heading to NeoCon next week to talk sustainability, wellness, and material optimization.

NeoCon is the premier event for the commercial design industry, featuring hundreds of exhibiting companies and thousands of new product launches. At this week’s conference, VI is seeking to educate designers on the role of vinyl in sustainability, wellness, and material optimization.

Vinyl’s Role in Sustainability, Wellness, and Material Optimization

Here’s a quick preview of the VI’s take on these key topics:

  • Sustainability—Sustainability is about the things we do and the ways that we can adapt to safeguard our food supplies, build safer homes that can withstand new stressors, and deed a good Earth to the generations to come.
  • Wellness—There is a growing awareness that wellness and design can  and should go hand in hand, and that  the built environment (and the materials that inhabit it) plays an important role in our mental and physical health.
  • Material Optimization—There’s rarely “one” reason designers pick a material. Indeed, the building industry is increasingly moving from a focus on single attributes (e.g., recycled content) to a focus on the lifecycle of a material or product.
