Vinyl Institute Elects New Member to Executive Committee

WASHINGTON, DC, Jan. 21, 2021 – The Vinyl Institute (VI), the U.S. trade association representing manufacturers of vinyl, vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), additives, and modifiers, is pleased to announce Grant Evans, of Occidental Chemical Corporation (OxyChem), has become a member of its Executive Committee and was elected Treasurer of the group.

“We’re pleased to welcome Grant to the Executive Committee,” said Ned Monroe, VI President & CEO. “His long history with vinyls will lend us great experience and knowledge as we work together, alongside the rest of the Executive Committee, to achieve our association’s strategic plan.”

The Executive Committee is made up of one voting member of each of the VI’s four Company Members, which have the capacity to manufacture 1 billion pounds or more of vinyl resin.

Mr. Evans has two decades worth of experience with OxyChem, where he started as a sales representative 21 years ago. He currently serves as the Executive Vice President – Commercial & Sustainability, where he manages new business development, strategy, marketing, pricing, and employee development in OxyChem’s Basic Chemicals, OxyChile and Vinyls business units.

In addition to serving on the VI Executive Committee, Mr. Evans will also serve as a director on the VI Board of Directors. Mr. Evans previously served on the VI Executive Committee from 2015 to 2017, and he has previously served on the Board and Executive Committee of the Chlorine Chemistry Division of the American Chemistry Council.

Mr. Evans holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. He resides in Frisco, Texas.
